Stop Using Jesus As An Excuse For Being A Narrow Minded Bigot

Just a funny image I found on the internet yesterday:

I *really* want that as a bumper sticker, or at least as a sign to go in front of my house…or in my window.

Why stop at chrisitians? Why not bash the jewish God, are you fearful of being labeled anti-semitic? Why not bash Allah, are you fearful of being terrorized? It’s easy to take the road well traveled after all when was the last time you heard of an atheist dying for his beliefs? There’s no courage taking the easy road.

    hg,

Jesus is the most popular “god” in terms of followers, and there are far more Christian fundamentalist bigots than Islamic ones. I rarely hear of the Jewish community arguing against atheists. If we really wanted to be accurate, we would have to have a sign that said “Stop using {insert list of all Gods} as an excuse for being a narrow minded bigot”.

    Hmmm…maybe I should do that.

I find myself much more threatened by Christianity in America than Islam or Judaism. In fact, I believe that most of the threat of Islam is caused by Christian bigotry. Therefore, I would rather target that religion than one that does not affect me directly.

I always liked that one. Unfortunately I agree with hg: why stop at Christians? Stop using religion as an excuse for being narrow-minded. Or carrying out terrorist attacks. Or starting cults.
