A Quick Poll

I’ve recently installed a poll plugin for wordpress seeing as it may come in handy for the future. I may even start having weekly polls on various topics if it gets popular. Anyway, this post is really to test the feature out so I know how it works, and more importantly, if it works!

So, the simple question: Are you atheist, theist, or agnostic?

I get quite a few visitors to the blog, and some people leave comments suggesting they belong to certain religious groups, some not. This is an anonymous poll to see what percentages of people read the blog, that’s all.

Are you atheist, theist, or agnostic?

What are you using for the definitions of each of these words? I think of myself as Atheist - I do not believe there is a god, and Agnostic - I don’t think the existence of a god can be certainly known to be true or false.

    Stophe,

When making the poll I originally had two options “atheist” and “theist”, but I foresaw a load of agnostics complaining that neither title suited them, hence the need for an “agnostic” option. If we were to break it down, there are actually 4 options: Agnostic Atheist, Agnostic Theist, Gnostic Atheist, and Gnostic Theist. Agnostic shouldn’t really be a term on it’s own, as it is a description of whether you believe your belief is the truth.

For me, I would be an agnostic atheist. I don’t belief in God, but I don’t believe you can disprove or prove it either.
