Carnival Of The Godless #94

Earthman’s Notebook is hosting the 94th Carnival of the Godless and it is jam-packed full of interesting articles. It proves that the carnival is still popular for content, but not so much for hosts.

After a plea for more hosting blogs to come forward, a few emerged (including myself in two weeks time!), but yet again the Carnival is facing extinction. After this blog hosts the carnival it will be over at Letters from a broad, but unless anyone else steps up it will stop before it reaches issue 100.

The current Carnival of the Godless had 40 articles in it, and I suspect many more were sent and rejected for various reasons. It is sad to see such great enthusiasm to get your work seen and yet hardly any to help the work of others. The atheist blogging community stands at at least 708 by The Atheist Blogroll’s count, so I urge any new bloggers to accept the challenge and put your blog up as a host. Even if you have hosted the carnival once before, I’m sure nobody will mind!

The Carnival of the Godless is a great way to read new blogs, share opinions, and get your site noticed in the blogging community. There is literally no reason you shouldn’t do it.

Congrats on being the host for #95. Maybe I’ll have an entry for that carnival.

I volunteered to host but still have not heard anything back. That was a month ago

I was one of those who came forward to host, but haven’t heard anything back from Brent. May have something to do with him still having his old email address on that request. I’ll try again at the gmail one, and via the blog carnival link http://blogcarnival.com/bc/cprof_10.html

I’m with Sean, also volunteered but heard nothing back, though that might have been due to sending to his old email address? I’ll re-send to his gmail address as well as through the blog carnival page.

I also have concerns as to how much work is involved in hosting, and wonder if not knowing what’s involved is what puts some people off? It may be advantageous if Brent posted a guideline on hosting a COTG?

I would have thought there would be a dog fight over hosting something that garuntees so much new exposure for your blog! I never put my hand up because I thought I was too small time!

    Time to contact Brett…

    Oz,

The Carnival is great because you set the rules. I’ve been receiving a load of submissions, and all I have to do is read through them and decide which ones I reckon other people would like. Some people decide to put everything in, others decide to only put submissions that seem to relate (if there is an overall theme).

A guideline would be nice though, you should let him know about the idea.

    Psst, I am hosting number 96 – Don’t tell anyone :)

Sean, I won’t tell anyone if you don’t tell them I’m hosting number 99

Congrats to Prior Perceptions for getting Carnival #100 :D

Indeed, I have tried to contact Brent from the CotG contact form but I haven’t heard anything back either. And I was gunning for #100. Damn…

    Oh well
