"I think that deep down, even religious people know that religion doesn't exist. How else could you explain lightning rods on church steeples?"

"Personally, of all the religions I have studied in the world today, and by examining the logic behind various beliefs, I have yet to see why the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has any fewer followers than Christianity."

"Believing in a God-man who misquotes his own holy scripture requires one of two things; either God is imperfect, or the men writing it were. I choose to believe neither."

"Persecuted" and "Suppressed" sure sound a lot nicer than imprisoned, tortured and murdered, don't they? - Wrathernaut

The bible states that if you ask god to forgive your sins or soul will be saved. This proves that god's love is fair and just. However, when jesus died on the cross he, according to the bible, took on all the sins of man (past, present, and future)so that we could be forgiven. Nowhere ,in the bible, does it state that jesus ever asked to be forgiven for these sins. Therefore, he died a sinner. Which, by all means, would indicate that he should go to hell. Doesn't that prove that this "fair and just, loving god" can and does or at least has played favorites?

Here's a few things I've come up with. Also, its so good to know there are fellow Atheists out there with the same convictions and intelligence as me. I was starting to feel alone. Lol.

God:- An intangible being with no proof of ever existing at all. The Universe:-A physical thing that we currently occupy thereby proving its existence. I know which one I'm betting on.

Priests:- The most convincing liar is one who believes he is telling the truth.

I think its fitting that God is mostly referred to as a man. The majority of societies dictators have been male as well.

"Do not worship any other god, for the Lord whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God" (Exodus 34: 14) Isn't jealousy a sin? So, if someone believed in a different god, The (supposed one and only) God would be jealous, ENVIOUS if you will, one of the seven deadly sins created in the time of early christian teachings. Well, Gods a great role model than hmmm? I wonder how many other Sins God has done. Is it PRIDE that keeps Him from revealing Himself? And by not using his supposed Omnipotent power to reach His full potential, isn't that SLOTH-full?

God gave us free will, only to have it called a sin if we use it to deny him.

Why must religion, who preaches equality, show a blatant disregard for it?

My contribution:

People ask, how can you trust an atheist's moral compass without a god to guide it? Well, no atheist in history ever hurt someone because of their supernatural beliefs, but somehow believers have managed to justify killing billions thanks to theirs. Which group seems more balanced and loving to you?

My contribution, condensed:

History says: you're way safer with atheists.
