Given that an afterlife is entirely incongruent with all human knowledge of life and the universe, I think it is safe to admit … while you are still alive … that your are correct ;-)

In the least, you are correct in reaching your conclusion even if it turns out to be false … and in the event it does, you won’t have to listen to any Christians “tell you so” … there is just no way their mythology is even good fiction.

Cheers. I was wondering if posting this would herald claims of “arrogance” (which is why I put the smiley on the end). I did think that most people had probably thought this at some point in their lives though!

Not exactly any different from the people who go around claiming that I’m going to Hell whilst they are going to Heaven.

The supers won’t know they’re right when they die, either, even if they are right. There is nothing a god can do, even in an afterlife, to prove that it was the creator. The problem of induction - a man comes every day to feed a turkey and then one day comes to kill it - does not go away in Heaven. Yes, the entity who claims to be the god gives you wings and a harp, and you meet beings who claim to be your beloved dead family members, but there is no proof that it is not a hoax by a technically advanced non-miraculous being or by some surprisingly powerful but not supreme god. Should you sing hosanna to that god for a billion years, there is no assurance that in the billionth year the real god will appear and condemn you to eternal hellfire for praising an imposter.

When I get run over by a bus tomorrow you will understand why I fuss over death :P. If I don’t cover death early on I might not be able to at a later date!

As for schoolwork, I’m at uni, there is no such thing :P Also it’s summer holiday (has been for about 3 months now).

P.S. In the unlikely event that I do get run over by a bus tomorrow I want it noted that the above was said in jest and was in no way a prophecy. I won’t be having fundamentalists making me into a prophetic martyr for their cause…

But seriously, there’s nothing sad about your statement except that your convictions have no backbone. I, on the other hand, don’t have to die to know if I’m correct, cos I know for a FACT that I’m correct today, with absolutely zero doubt.

i a a strong believer that when you dye you are gone .. like there is nothing there… i am not quite sure if this is good or not… i would like to believe in godd but i just dont believe. i dont realy think humans are real i think we are all figments of our imaginations and no1 is real just dreams… am i a freak … and is it ok to think this way
