Most self-styled Christians, Jews, Muslims etc. ignore the supposed holy writ. Also of interest is the way in which very few Muslims would marry a child in the way that their "prophet" did. They think it isn't acceptable in this day & age. But what has made it unacceptable? The fact that secular morality has moved on, overtaking the eternal word of Gob, & they accept this. It is secular human progress that the believers live by, not the scriptures that they supposedly adhere to, & is they don't believe it why should I? You're quite right.
